Sermorelin (GRF 1-29 NH2) is a synthetic 29-amino acid peptide that corresponds to the amino-terminal segment of the naturally occurring human growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH). Sermorelin binds to the growth hormone-releasing hormone receptor (GHRHR) and mimics native GHRH in its ability to stimulate growth hormone secretion from the pituitary gland. It has an empirical formula of C149H246N44O42S and a molecular weight of 3,358 daltons, and acts as a functional GHRH analog to promote the synthesis and release of endogenous growth hormone.
