BPC-157 (Body Protection Compound 157) is a synthetic pentadecapeptide composed of 15 amino acids with the sequence Gly-Glu-Pro-Pro-Pro-Gly-Lys-Pro-Ala-Asp-Asp-Ala-Gly-Leu-Val. It is stable at room temperature and resistant to hydrolysis, enzyme digestion, and gastric juice. BPC-157 works through various mechanisms including binding to the heme iron of NOS, triggering nitric oxide synthesis, activating tissue repair cells, modulating growth factor receptor expression, and showing anti-inflammatory effects. In tendon fibroblasts, BPC-157 dose-dependently increases the expression of growth hormone receptor and activates the JAK2 signaling pathway.
